Privacy Philosophy


At Snapp & Son Insurance, Inc., we respect your privacy. For more than 70 years, Snapp & Son has provided insurance to people in Washington State. Our customers have trusted us with information about themselves and their families, and we recognize and respect our customers' expectations of privacy. We have not, and will not, violate that trust by giving or selling your personal information to any third party for any purpose other than providing you with our services. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to guard your privacy that comply with state and federal regulations. We will continue to strive to earn your trust and your business.

While we appreciate this trust you place in us, it is important for you to know more specifically what information we collect and what we do with that information in our efforts to provide you the service you expect.


In order to give you the insurance services you request, we often ask customers to complete an application form or other forms that disclose such personal information as your name, address, Social Security number and other financial information. We supplement this information with financial information from consumer credit reporting agencies (such as credit worthiness and credit scores), driving and automobile licensing information from state agencies and information about your real estate from public records. Finally, we collect information about your business transactions with us including information about account payments, claims and other information that may be necessary to serve you in the future. The information that we collect is limited to that which we believe will be necessary to fulfill the requirements of the insurers and regulators with whom we work. Unless we notify you of a change in our policy, no additional information will be collected about you.


We do not share nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers with other companies except in connection with providing you the services you request and as required by law. In the process of providing services or products to you, we may disclose any of the information we collect (as described in Section A above) to the insurance companies and other financial services companies with whom you contract or with whom you may wish to contract in the future, to companies that provide services to us as we work on matters relating to your policy, to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf, to governmental entities that regulate us, and to other third parties as permitted by law.

We do not share with anyone your credit information, such as credit worthiness, credit standing, credit capacity or credit score. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, however, we are permitted to share information about your transactions or experiences with us (such as payment history) with our affiliated companies.

If we decide to change this policy to disclose information that is different from that described above, you will receive a revised privacy notice and, if applicable, an opportunity to opt out before we make any such disclosure.


We also respect the confidentiality of your nonpublic personal health information. While we do not typically request health information from you in connection with our services, we occasionally receive information about a customer's health status or condition while providing services to that customer in connection with an insurance claim or when seeking a change in insurance products. This information may be provided by the customer or by the insurance companies that insure our customers. When we receive personal health information from any source, only those persons within Snapp & Son who need the information in order to provide you the services you request are given access to the information. Personal health information about a particular customer may also be shared with the organizations described in Section B if necessary to secure for you the services you request or if required in order for us to comply with our obligations to governmental authorities and the insurance companies who contract with the customer. In no situation, however, will Snapp & Son disclose nonpublic personal health information about you unless a written or electronic authorization is obtained from you or the disclosure is otherwise permitted by law.
