Although not required, documentation of personal belongings can be a big help in settling claims — and provide you the fullest settlement possible. Some methods
include a paper list, computer database, photographs or a video of your home and possessions. We think the video route is best — just press the "record" button and "walk and talk" through your your whole house, inside and outside. Make a 15- to 30-minute recording and store it off-site, in a safety deposit box or with a trusted friend.
